This work explores the impact of trauma on romantic relationships, particularly the tension between intimacy and self-preservation. It reflects the conflict of resisting attachment out of fear of losing one’s sense of self, while simultaneously longing to be loved and chosen.

The piece embodies an underlying duality one that exists beneath the surface of connection, where desire and hesitation coexist. It speaks to the search for comfort and security, while questioning the capacity to hold space for both vulnerability and independence.
